Asia Concrete Expo is getting ready to welcome global visitors at its upcoming edition. The event, which will take place from 16 to 18 October 2024 at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Goyang, South Korea, will feature various conferences and seminars covering the latest developments and opportunities in the industry.

\n\n

Organised by the Federation of Korea Concrete Industry Cooperatives (FKCIC), Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KICT) and KINTEX, Asia Concrete Expo will occupy approximately 10,000 sq m of area, with more than 100 local and international exhibitors. The event will showcase a wide range of concrete-related products, comprising concrete production equipment, construction technologies, surface decoration tools, concrete distribution and management solutions, heavy machinery, and more.

\n\n

“This year’s exhibition has already secured participation from global brands such as Progress Group, Nordimpianti, Imer Group, and leading domestic company Sampyo Industries. Over 30 companies from seven countries, including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and China, have confirmed their participation,” said the organisers.

\n\n

The last edition in 2021, despite being held during the pandemic, saw 20% of its participants coming from overseas, and 96% of participating companies expressed satisfaction with the event, according to the organisers. This year, the event is expected to be significantly larger, with its scale doubling in size, greater business opportunities and more innovative products on display.

\n\n

Key conferences and seminars

\n\n

There will be a comprehensive line-up of seminars and conferences at the 2024 Asia Concrete Expo. Among them are the FKCIC CEO Seminar, which will host 200 participants over two days (16-17 Oct), as well as the Korea Concrete Institute (KCI) Seminar, Korea Cement Advanced-materials Research Association (KCARA) Conference, and Korea Institute of Building Construction (KIC) Seminar.

\n\n

A number of business opportunities connecting local and international participants will also be available. These comprise networking parties, KOTRA-hosted buyer consultations, purchasing consultations, and docent tours.

\n\n

On 16 Oct, the sixth Smart Construction Seminar will be held within the exhibition hall. The concrete session will feature speakers from global companies such as Progress Group, Kraft Curing Systems and BHS Sonthofen, with local speakers from the Sustainable Smart Convergence Educational Research Centre and Lotte Construction, discussing topics like carbon-neutral building certification and AI-based construction safety monitoring.

\n\n

On 17 Oct, the KCI Seminar will deliver presentations by Seoul National University’s Prof. Park Hong-geun on ‘Concrete Vision 2050’ and Prof. Moon Joo-hyuk on ‘Technologies for Carbon-Neutral Concrete.’ Furthermore, international experts including Quadra CEO Delacour Xavier and representatives from German companies Avermann, Hess (Top-Werk Group) and Prinzing Pfeiffer, will present advanced automated concrete manufacturing technologies.

\n\n

The KIC Seminar on Construction Quality Management will also take place on 17 Oct, targeted at public officials in architectural positions and those responsible for managing public facilities. It will address a variety of issues related to concrete construction, like solutions for preventing collapses, achieving carbon neutrality, and mitigating noise between floors in residential buildings.

\n\n

Speakers at the KIC Seminar will include Prof. Kim Kyu-yong (Chungnam National University) on ‘Construction Collapse Accident and Quality Management Measures,’ Prof. Yang Hyun-min (Hanyang University) on ‘Ready-Mixed Concrete Quality Management,’ Prof. Tae Sung-ho (Hanyang University) on ‘Current Status and Prospects of Carbon Neutrality in the Construction Industry,’ and Prof. Ryu Dong-woo (Daejin University) on ‘Post-Certification of Noise between Floors in Apartment Buildings.’

\n\n

This year’s Asia Concrete Expo will be held concurrently with the Smart Modular Construction (OSC) Expo and the Korea International Construction and Industrial Safety Expo (K-ConSafety Expo). Attendees who pre-register will be able to visit these three events for free.

\n\n

In addition, other related exhibitions will take place at the same time, namely the Tool Tech Smart Welding Automation Fair, Korea Metal Week, and Korea Auto Industry & Global TransporTech Show.

The Global AI Construction Safety and Concrete Seminar 2024 will be held on 16 October at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Goyang, South Korea. Jointly organised by Smart Construction Confluence Association, KINTEX and Korea Construction Newspaper, the event will be co-located with Asia Concrete Expo and Korea Construction & Industrial Safety Expo (K-Con Safety Expo) 2024.

\n\n

“Smart safety technology comprises a major part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ambitious R&D project, promoting the development of smart construction technology. This seminar is highly anticipated as it will feature presentations from leading companies and experts in digital-based construction site safety technology,” said Seongmin Jo, second president of Smart Construction Confluence Association.

\n\n

During the seminar, the awards for the ‘1st Smart Technology Video Contest’ will also be presented. Another highlight is the session on ‘Smart Construction Seminar,’ which will be divided into two parts: ‘Smart Technologies Utilising AI’ and ‘Global Cutting-Edge Concrete Production and Construction’.

\n\n

The ‘Smart Technologies Utilising AI’ segment will cover a wide range of topics, including paradigm shift in smart safety management systems; smart safety control for construction site safety management based on BIM; AI video analysis service for construction site accident prevention using synthetic data; generative AI construction GPT and quality safety management; real-time facility risk management solution using ‘Meerkat’ AIoT intelligent sensors; dynamic risk prediction solution (S100) utilising AI; and the real-world integration of 4D BIM and control platform-based smart safety technology.

\n\n

The ‘Global Cutting-Edge Concrete Production and Construction’ segment will also feature a variety of topics by speakers from global companies, such as Progress Group, Kraft Curing Systems, BHS Sonthofen, and Lotte Engineering & Construction, among others.

\n\n

In addition, K-Con Safety Expo and Asia Concrete Expo will host a networking session. It will be attended by over 200 participants, comprising leaders from 40 global companies, 40 buyers, major exhibitors, and members of the Smart Construction Confluence Association.

\n\n

The Global AI Construction Safety and Concrete Seminar is sponsored by various organisations, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; Seoul Metropolitan Government; Public Procurement Service; Korea Expressway Corporation Smart Construction Division; National Railroad Corporation; Korea Land and Housing Corporation; Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management; Sustainable Smart City Research Centre; Korea Construction Association; Korea Mechanical Contractors Association; Korea AI Smart Home Industry Association; Korea Remodelling Association; Korean Institute of Architects; KNX Korea Association; and Smart Interior Forum.

K-Con Safety Expo, which will take place from 16 to 18 October 2024, focuses on promoting smart safety technologies in construction and workplaces to prevent accidents and reduce damages. Over 150 companies with advanced safety technologies are expected to participate.

\n\n

Asia Concrete Expo aims to promote the latest concrete production, construction technologies and products, featuring over 100 companies from countries such as Germany, Italy and China. The event will be held concurrently with Smart Modular Construction Expo.

The upcoming Asia Concrete Expo & Smart Modular Construction Expo – an international concrete, cement and off-site construction technology trade show – will take place from 16 to 18 October 2024 at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Goyang, South Korea.

\n\n

The event is jointly organised by the Federation of Korea Concrete Industry Cooperatives (FKCIC), Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), and KINTEX. The previous edition was held in 2021.

\n\n

The 2024 Asia Concrete Expo & Smart Modular Construction Expo will cover approximately 10,000 sq m of area, with more than 100 local and international exhibitors. It is expected to draw about 10,000 visitors and buyers from Korea and globally.

\n\n

Aimed to advance the concrete and modular construction industries, the event will showcase a wide range of concrete machines and equipment, concrete technologies and solutions, construction materials and methods, as well as innovative equipment and technologies for modular construction, especially in precast concrete (PC).

\n\n

Various business programmes will also be available at the event, including conferences and seminars, import and export consultations, and on-site docent/guided tours with potential buyers. In addition, there will be a Korean concrete design competition, concrete group standard quality management education, concrete technology competition, and cement and concrete carbon neutral forums.

\n\n

The 2024 Asia Concrete Expo & Smart Modular Construction Expo is supported by a number of government agencies and industry organisations, namely the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Korea Specialised Construction Association, Smart Modular Forum, Korea Concrete Association, Korea Civil Engineering Association, Korea Cement Association, Korea Remicon Industry Association, Korea Road Association, Korea Aggregate Association, and more.

\n\n

According to the organisers, with the participation of the Smart Modular Forum (an organisation representing modular construction in Korea), the event is expected to be the largest exhibition in the country on PC manufacturing construction. More than 50 companies have currently completed their application to join the event, among which include BHS Sonthofen GmbH, Progress Group, R Steel, and Afinitas GmbH.

The organisers said the event has also been heavily promoted in other parts of Asia, such as Japan and Southeast Asia, aiming to attract participants from these regions. Furthermore, the Japan PC Creative Development Exchange is scheduled to bring a group of visitors during the event.

This year, Asia Concrete Expo & Smart Modular Construction Expo will be held in conjunction with Korea Metal Week, Korea International Construction & Industrial Safety Expo (K-Con Safety Expo), Korea Auto Industry & Global TransporTech Show, and Tool Tech+Smart Welding Automation Fair.
